A round table from the Plissé collection, with a pleated mango wood base

The name comes from pleating and here you see it literally. The base is a central volume of mango wood made up of slats that open downwards, like the fold of a fabric taken into wood: that is the axis of the Plissé collection, which carries pleated textiles into the form of furniture. The wood is in a light brown tone, with the grain on show, and it is the first thing you look at on the piece.

On top rests a circular top of veined white marble, 121 cm in diameter. Polished, cold stone over warm wood with relief: two temperatures in the same piece. Being round, there are no heads of table and no worse places, everyone seated is in view, and in a square dining room or on a narrow route it fits better than a rectangular table of the same size.

The marble sets the care: it cleans easily, but spills should be picked up at once and acidic products kept away, no lemon or vinegar. The height is 76 cm, the usual for dining chairs. It weighs 79.4 kg, arrives in two packages and requires assembly, so base and top are joined on site.
