Trim Side Table

Designer side tables with an architectural language

The Trim side table borrows the language of contemporary architecture and applies it at a domestic scale. Its combination of solid volumes and well-defined voids creates a structure that goes beyond function: it is a piece that visually organises the space it occupies, bringing order and character by its presence alone. The precise geometry of its straight lines also contrasts with the natural texture of the cement, generating a tension between the constructed and the handcrafted that is very interesting.

Cement in an off-white tone is a material that ages well: over time it may develop slight variations of tone and texture that add depth and authenticity to the piece. Unlike synthetic materials, cement has a genuine tactile presence you perceive both looking at it and touching it. The Trim is therefore one of the collection's designer side tables with the strongest material character.

Volumes and voids in balance

The geometry of the Trim works with the relationship between mass and space deliberately. The solid volumes give stability and presence. The voids, on the other hand, visually lighten the piece and create interior shadows that change with the light of the room, adding a dynamic dimension to an apparently static piece. It is precisely that duality which makes the Trim interesting from any angle and at any time of day.

Its dimensions of 48×41×55 cm give it a well-judged scale for use beside sofas or armchairs, with a height of 55 cm that is comfortable for resting things from a standard seat. Its asymmetric profile, 48 cm wide against 41 cm deep, also gives it a directionality you can use to orient the piece according to the space available.

For interiors that commit to domestic architecture

In short, the Trim is for those who understand that the best furniture follows the same logic as good buildings: clear structure, honest materials and a form that arises from function without giving up beauty.

To enhance its architectural character, combine it with one of our modern floor lamps of pared-back lines that reinforce the same language.
