The Kala side table works with the contrast between two materials that do not normally live together: metal with a rust finish, rough and warm, and textured glass, cold and translucent. Together, however, they create an unexpected and very effective balance. The rust finish of the conical base brings a handcrafted warmth that the glass alone would not have. The glass, on the other hand, visually lifts the piece and adds a lightness that the metal alone would not achieve either. It is precisely that tension between materials which makes the Kala a designer side table with a very defined identity.

The 2 cm thick glass top with concentric grooves is a detail of great visual effect: the circular grooves create a pattern that is especially apparent in side or overhead light, changing the appearance of the surface with the time of day and the angle of view. The 2 cm thickness also gives the glass a visual solidity that takes it away from the fragility usually associated with this material.

Two sizes for dynamic compositions

Being available in two formats, 41×41×55 cm and 60×60×55 cm, is designed for use in composition. The difference in surface, with the same height of 55 cm, creates a dynamic, visual grouping that works more like a decorative installation than a simple pair of tables. It is therefore especially suited to larger living rooms where a single side table would look small or lost.

Used separately, each size has its own function: the smaller one as a support table beside armchairs or in corners, the larger one as a secondary coffee table or an element of transition between areas. In both cases, the possible variations between pieces, proper to the handcrafted process of the rust finish, add a point of singularity that reinforces its character.
