A rattan light with a fish silhouette for a long table or a kitchen island

It is woven in rattan in a brown tone over an elongated silhouette that recalls the shape of a fish. The weave leaves gaps between the fibres, so the shade does not only light: it draws shadows on the table and the ceiling, and changes appearance considerably switched on and off. Rattan is a living fibre, it settles in tone over the years and is cared for dry, with a feather duster or cloth, with no water or products.

The 180 cm of length against 50 cm of depth make it a clearly horizontal piece, designed to accompany an elongated top: a narrow dining table, a kitchen island or a bar. The 104 cm height of the whole has to be counted when deciding how high to hang it, because the silhouette is appreciated above all in profile. It weighs 7.5 kg, a contained weight for its size.

It fits interiors with a boho feel, with wood and natural textiles, and it also serves as a warm counterpoint in a very white kitchen. You can see it alongside the rest of the designer ceiling lights.
