N 26 Desk in Grey Ceramic Marble

An oval ceramic-topped desk for working at home without setting up an office

Two materials come together in the top. The working surface is ceramic, in brown and beige tones, a compact material that does not absorb ink or coffee and that a dry cloth leaves clean. The rest of the piece is MDF board lacquered in matt sand grey, a warm grey that acts as a neutral backdrop for the pattern of the ceramic. The structure is metal, lacquered in matt black.

The footprint is oval, with no corners, so the desk can stand away from the wall without getting in the way. It measures 117 cm wide by 56 cm deep: room to spare for a laptop and a notebook open at the same time, with a contained depth that fits in a bedroom or in the recess of a living room. The 76 cm height is that of a conventional work table, and under the top there is a drawer for cables, notebooks and whatever should not stay on show.

It weighs 32.1 kg and requires assembly: it arrives in a 124 × 63 × 25 cm box, a measurement worth checking if there are narrow staircases. It is a piece for homes where the desk is on show and has to look like another item of furniture.

It is in the shop's selection of designer desks.
