Armchair in Dark Red

A dark red velvet armchair as the focal point of the living room

Dark red is a colour that takes charge of a room, and in velvet it gains depth: the fabric darkens in the folds and lightens where the light falls. It goes with light walls, with woods and with the matt black of the metal leg. It works best as the only strong note of colour in the space.

The format is square — 95 cm wide, 95 deep and 91 high — and the plump look comes from the filling: 32 kg/m³ polyurethane foam in the seat and polystyrene fibre in the back. The seat therefore supports and the back gives as you lean into it. The inner frame is solid reclaimed pine, and the lacquered metal leg keeps the volume clear of the floor so it does not read as a block.

It requires assembly, weighs 27 kg and the seat height is 45 cm. Care is professional cleaning only. It fits facing the sofa, in a home office or in a bedroom with room. It can be compared with the rest of the designer armchairs.
