Armchair in Midnight Blue Velvet

A plump blue velvet armchair for the resting corner

From the front it is an almost perfect square: 95 cm wide, 95 deep and 91 high, with the back and arms at the same height and a clearly plump look. That volume is what defines the piece, so it is worth measuring the space before ordering it: it takes up room like a living-room armchair, not like an occasional chair.

The upholstery is a polyester velvet in midnight blue, a deep tone that changes intensity as the light falls and marks the relief of the seams. It is the darkest blue in the collection and works as a background colour: it accompanies neutrals without competing with them and gains body in a room with little natural light. Care is professional cleaning only, as is usual with velvet.

The lacquered metal legs in matt black lift the volume off the floor and take away its heaviness, a device that keeps an armchair of this size from reading as a block. It fits in a living room, in a generous bedroom or in a waiting area.

It is in the designer armchairs category.
