Boreal Pendant

An alabaster light, from two to five pieces, for a dining room or a staircase

Alabaster is natural stone, and here it is the shade: translucent, it lets the light through its own thickness and returns it softened, with the veining visible. Each piece is different and may show variations in the veining, so no two lights are alike. The caps and the fabric cable are gold, a warm contrast against the off-white of the stone that keeps the whole from looking cold.

It is assembled with two, three, four or five pieces, so the same light serves a corner or a double-height void. The three-piece version is 64.5 cm high and 12 cm in diameter: a narrow, tall column that takes up little in plan and a lot vertically, and the other versions follow that same proportion with more or fewer pieces hanging. That proportion makes it useful where there is height to spare and space is short, such as a stairwell, a double-height entrance hall or the end of a bar. The ceiling rose is 12 cm and the cable measures 1.5 m.

The integrated LED gives, in the three-piece version, 14 W and 1200 lm at 3000 K, with a 360° beam angle and CRI ≥ 90, driver included and on-off switching. You can see it alongside the rest of the designer ceiling lights.
