Kolga Sideboard

An art deco buffet with four doors and tall compartments

The art deco drawing is on the front and the material is mango wood in brown, the same throughout the unit. It is a style that depends on the work done to the surface rather than on colour, which is why it works in a single finish: the relief casts its own shadow and the warm tone of the wood does the rest.

Behind the four doors there are two compartments of 69.5 × 36 × 63 cm and a single fixed shelf, with 30 cm of clear height. Few divisions and plenty of vertical space: that is the layout to choose when what you store is tall, jugs, tureens or bottles standing upright, rather than stacked crockery. The shelf takes 15 kg and the unit as a whole holds 80 kg, among the most generous figures for a dining-room top. The wall anchor is included.

It measures 180 × 40 × 85 cm and weighs 50 kg. At 85 cm the top sits above the dining table, comfortable for serving standing up. It requires assembly and the legs come apart. Clean it with a synthetic cloth and soapy water, drying with cotton; on varnished wood, a teaspoon of vinegar brings back the shine.

It fits a classic dining room as readily as a contemporary one willing to take in a piece with a pattern. More alternatives in sideboards.
