Alassio Sideboard

A sideboard 45 cm deep in mango wood and black iron

What sets this sideboard apart is the depth: 45 cm, more than usual in the category. It translates into internal compartments of 80 × 40 × 53 cm, where china stacks in two rows instead of one, and large platters fit without standing on edge. Behind it there are four doors and two fixed shelves with 25.5 cm of clearance between them, a height for plates and bowls rather than standing bottles.

The frame is black iron and carries a body of mango wood in light brown with MDF details. The metal gives rigidity and a fine line at the edges, and the light wood keeps the piece from feeling cold. Each shelf takes 10 kg and the unit holds 60 kg in total.

It measures 175 × 45 × 75 cm and weighs 65.7 kg. The 75 cm height puts it level with a table, so the top sits naturally beside a dining area. It requires assembly: the fittings are included and the legs come off, but the wall anchor is not included.

It works in Nordic dining rooms and in living rooms where the black of the metal already appears in lamps or joinery. There are more pieces in sideboards.
