Kozakura Rug

A jute and cotton rug in blue and beige for a natural room

Jute is the fibre that defines this rug: plant-based, rough to the touch and matt in finish, with the irregularity of a natural yarn. The cotton in the blend softens the whole and is what carries the colour. Over the beige of the weave runs a classic motif reinterpreted in a soft blue, a contrast that works as well in a country house as in a contemporary flat.

It measures 300 × 200 cm, an in-between format: it serves as a living room rug in front of the sofa, but it also fits a bedroom at the foot of the bed or a small dining room. It weighs 13.4 kg, a manageable weight that makes it easy to lift and clean underneath. At 1 cm thick it goes unnoticed where it meets the edge of a piece of furniture or a doorway.

Being a plant fibre, jute ages visibly: the weave settles with use and the tone gains nuance over time. It is a piece for anyone after natural materials and a quiet range of colour. You can see it alongside the rest of our designer rugs.
